
Acrylics dry quickly, forcing rapid decision making and disciplined control. They also produce solid, bright colors — perfect for paying homage to Japanese woodblock prints.
Mostly caricatures of real people, who in a sense, were (and still are) parodies of themselves. The rest are fictional characters and collages.
Most of my work subtly reflects various aspect of Asian cultures, particularly in theme or style: references to martial arts; color choices and the way the characters are drawn.
